Exploration Geologist
Remote · EU / UK 2 positions 1–5 years experience

About the role

We are building a repeatable discovery process. We are at the cutting edge of mineral systems and exploration targeting workflows, and you will be expected to thrive in this space. Our generative projects cover more than a million square kilometres, and we complete them in months. We are looking for two geologists with 1 to 5 years of mineral exploration experience to join our team and help unlock the next discoveries.

What you will do

  • Build and test mineral systems models across whole basins, belts and cratons
  • Consider different models and geological hypotheses, and decide which ones the data supports
  • Work with uncertainty, data gaps and knowledge gaps, and still make strong geological calls
  • Use AI tools every day to work faster and extract more insight from geological data
  • Challenge the exploration status quo

Who you are

  • 1 to 5 years of experience in mineral exploration
  • A critical thinker and a systems thinker
  • You thrive in a fast, dynamic environment and are comfortable with the uncertainty of operating at the cutting edge of exploration
  • You are excited to bring new tools into your daily work and develop them further
  • Self-motivated, focused and a strong team player in a remote team
  • Ready to get out of your geological comfort zone
  • First and foremost, you want to unlock the next major discoveries

Advantageous, but not necessary

  • Experience building large-scale generative desktop projects
  • Mineral systems experience
  • Sedimentary copper and/or orogenic gold experience

Location

Remote, based in the EU or UK. You must already have the right to work there (citizenship or visa). The team works primarily on European time zones, with clients in Australia, Europe, Africa and North America.

Why join us

Discovery rates are falling, and the industry keeps doing the same things. We think there is a better way, and we have been building it over the last five years. You will work at a scale, pace and level of technology few exploration groups can match. It will challenge you as a geologist. If that is what you are looking for, we want to hear from you.

Application questions

Do not submit a cover letter. Instead, answer these three questions in the application form below (maximum 3,500 characters including spaces for all three answers together, roughly one A4 page):

  1. Tell us about a geological call you made with incomplete data. What did you decide, and how did it turn out?
  2. How do you use AI tools in your geological work today, and where do you see them falling short?
  3. Describe one critical ingredient of a mineral system you know well. How would you go about mapping it at scale in regional datasets?
